Eastern Conference All-Stars - 2014/2015

Eastern Conference All-Stars – 2014/2015

The Shea’s YBA Award Ceremony and All-Star Game takes place each year following the regular season.  The All-Stars are chosen based on votes from all of the head coaches of the league.  Both the “East” and the “West” are responsible for sending 12 players to represent the 4 teams within their conference.  Each team must have at least 2 All-Stars and no team can have more than 3.

Once the All-Stars are announced, each coach will present a certificate to their Most Improved Player and Sportsmanship Award recipients, as well as name their representative for the three-point shootout.  If a player is voted an All-Star then they can not be chosen as the most improved player, the sportsman of the year, or the representative in the three-point shootout.  The idea is to get as many kids involved in the awards and the event as possible.

Besides the individual team awards there are also league awards including Most Valuable Player, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and the Most Improved Player Award.  After the 1st half of the All-Star game is completed, the 3 point shootout representatives take the court and start the competition.  Once the shootout is complete, the champion will receive their trophy prior to the start of the 2nd half of the All-Star game. To conclude the evening, after the All-Star game an All-Star MVP is announced and given an award.
