ABOUT US
Mission Statement: Shea’s YBA is youth development program that primarily utilizes volunteers to provide free programs including basketball leagues, mentoring services, and community outreach projects that educate participants on the importance of camaraderie, responsibility, teamwork, sacrifice, and respect for self as well as others.
Shea’s Youth Basketball Association is like no other school, travel, or recreational basketball program that you will find. Incorporating community service with educational activities, all while taking part in a highly competitive and fun basketball league with dozens of extras you won’t see in any other program is what sets us above the rest!

The program generally runs from mid-December through mid-March. All games, practices, and events are held on the weekends at the HYCC.
Summer Basketball Program
Our Summer Basketball Program is open to both boys and girls aged 10-17 from all over Cape Cod and surrounding areas. There are two age divisions, 10-13 and 14-17. Lend a Hand Program
Our Lend a Hand Program supplements both our Winter and Summer basketball programs. Each participant, as part of playing in the program, is required to complete at least one community service project with us through our Lend a Hand Community Outreach Program. Once a participant has completed their community service commitment, they are eligible to play in the program completely free of charge. *Please see our Deposit and Refund Policy*
Beyond Basketball
Our annual Beyond Basketball seminar educates participants on one or more of the following subjects: substance abuse prevention and awareness (primary topic), crime prevention, importance of diet and exercise, importance of academics, proper uses of social media, & anti-bullying initiatives, all focusing on the connection between sports, education, and living a healthy lifestyle. We utilize guest speakers to provide first-hand, personal stories, of their struggles with these topics and their perseverance through it all. The event also includes any rule changes, players find out their teams for the winter season, and the program inducts 5 players to the SYBA Hall of Fame
Hall of Fame
Each year, 5 players are inducted into the Shea’s YBA Hall of Fame. Players are inducted based on criteria of: skill level and attributes, attendance, community service, and must represent the organization appropriately. Players with continued disciplinary action will not be inducted. Players receive recognition at our Beyond Basketball event, an award plague w/ photo of player, along with their name and number printed on the SYBA Hall of Fame Banner displayed at the HYCC
